The Qatari - European Friendship Association held a farewell ceremony in honor of HE Sheikh Ali Bin Jassim Al-Thani, the Head of the State of Qatar's mission to the European Union at the European Parliament on the occasion of the end of his duties in Brussels.

Ms. Ramona Manseco, President of the Qatari-European friendship thanked the Ambassador for establishing the Qatari – European Friendship Association in the European Parliament on October 20, 2012, which became effective link between the European Parliament and the State of Qatar.

She expressed appreciation for the efforts of H.E the Ambassador, which contributed to the development of cooperation and deepening relations between the State of Qatar and the European Union, and wished him success in his new assignment.

MEPs also expressed their thanks and appreciation to His Excellency Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al Thani, pointing to the success of the Qatari - European Friendship during his tenure to build bridges between the Europeans and the Qataris to achieve common goals.

For his part, the Head of the State of Qatar's mission to the European Union , H.E Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al Thani thanked the President and the members of the Assembly at the farewell ceremony, which represents an opportunity to express his gratitude to his friends in the European Parliament.

He also expressed his thanks for their continuous support to the State of Qatar and the association, noting that the meetings and activities of periodic visits organized by the State of Qatar has produced fruitful cooperation and constructive dialogue between the European Union and the State of Qatar in all areas.

He also wished the success and happiness for the next Head of the State of Qatar’s Mission and the Qatari - European Friendship Assembly- in their joint work
