In my capacity as a head of the Mission of the State of Qatar to the European Union, I am pleased to welcome you to the official website of the mission, hoping that you will find in it all the useful information related to the multiple channels of cooperation between the State of Qatar and the European Union.

 

Based on the developed relations between Qatar and EU in all aspects of cooperation, The State of Qatar has decided to establish a new mission to the EU in order to

•  Facilitate political and economic relations;

• Broaden economic and technical cooperation;

• Broaden cooperation on energy, industry, trade and services, agriculture, fisheries, investment, science, technology and environment.

I am honored to be the 1st Representative of the State of Qatar to the European Union, and leading the work that aims to strengthen the close ties between the two sides.

 This site is dedicated to providing all information that contributes to facilitating and promoting all cooperative activities between the State of Qatar and the European Union, and we hope that it meets the desire and ambition of all individuals and private and public institutions. The 1st Full Ambassador Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary of the State of Qatar to the European Union (EU ) and Head of its Mission to the North Atlantic Organization ( NATO)  since 2021.

Achievements

  • Prepared for the State visit of H.H. The Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of The State Of Qatar "may God preserve him" to Italy during the period of 19-20 November 2018.
  • Prepared for the official visit of H.H. The Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of The State Of Qatar "may God preserve him" to Italy during the period of 28-29 January 2016.
  • Participated in the opening of the Consulate General of the State of Qatar in Milan on 29/06/2017.
  • Participated in the opening of the military attaché of the State of Qatar in Italy on 11/05/2018.
  • Supervised the project of building the school complex in the Italian city of Macerata, which was funded by ( Qatar Fund for Development ) in the amount of 5.6 million euros and has participated in the opening ceremony of the school complex on 21/12/2019.
  • Supervised the job placement and updating the organizational structure at the Embassy of the State of Qatar to Italy.
  • Supervised the state visit to HE. Sergio Mattarella, President of the Italian Republic, to the State of Qatar during the period of 20-22 /1/2020.
  • Supervised purchasing a new building for the embassy of the State of Qatar in the Italian capital, Rome, located on 50/52 Goito Street, on 27/21/2020.
  • Supervised the arrival of the assistance from the state of Qatar to Italy (12 aircraft - two field hospitals) to limit the spread of the Corona virus in the presence of HE / Luigi Di Maio – the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs.
  • Chaired the Council of Ambassadors for the Arab League in Rome from 1/3/2021 until 1/9/2021.
  • Supervising the file of exempting Qatari citizens from the (Schengen) visa and the efforts that culminated in the European Commission's official proposal on 27 April 2022, to the European Council for Qatari nationals to be exempted from visa requirements for visits shorter than 90 days in any 180-day period in any Schengen Area country or member state.

Medals

  • Awarded the Knight Medal, which is awarded to personalities who contribute to developing the prospects of cooperation and friendship in the Republic of San Marino on 31/03/2021.
  • Awarded the Order of the Star of Italy in the rank of Knight Grand (the highest decoration granted by the Italian President), in appreciation for his efforts during his tenure in Italy.

Other Work experience

  • Won the Abdullah Bin Hamad Al Attiyah International Energy Award in 2019 as an appreciation of his age achievements in the development of the energy industry sector in the State of Qatar.
  •  Has significant professional experience spanning more than twenty-three years.
  •  Member delegation of the state in a large number of meetings of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) in Vienna and many other countries.
  •  Participated in the membership of the delegations of the state for a large number of local and international conferences and forums on energy and industry.
